When I planned my dive trip to Con Dao, I was picturing beautiful coral reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But I saw something on the Amadive itinerary: **Wreck Diving**. My pulse leaped. This wasn't just a standard reef dive; this was an adventure into the past.
I'll admit, I was a bit a little apprehensive. Wreck diving requires extra care. But the crew at **Amadive** was fantastic. The PADI guides provided a detailed briefing. We discussed our safety procedures, the history of the wreck, and what to expect down there. Being in such a small group instantly made me feel safe.
Going down was unforgettable. First, it's a shadow in the blue, and then the structure appeared. It is enormous. The ship is now a thriving artificial reef, draped in soft corals and teeming with fish. We saw giant groupers peeking from inside the cargo hold, and schools of fusiliers hiding in the superstructure. The feeling of gliding alongside this giant, silent structure was hard to describe—eerie, awe-inspiring, and humbling at the same time. It's a time capsule under the water.
For any an Open Water diver (or higher) visiting Con Dao and seeking something more the usual reef dive, I cannot urge you this **dive** enough. It was the absolute highlight of my diving trip. A huge shout-out to the **Amadive** crew for their expertise and for making this read more incredible adventure so safe.
